Dependable value

We have the right people. Among our 2 million citizens are workers who dependably add value. People who possess the skills, training and education—and the initiative—to help you prosper.

Low-cost

Yours will take its place alongside thousands of businesses in more than 200 communities. Some of them chose Ontario East for our low operating costs—they’re lower here than in other parts of Ontario. Others were drawn by our low corporate tax rates, compared with those of the United States. Still others are here because of the generous R&D tax credits.

Premier access

But many businesses settled down here to profit from our premier access to Eastern Canada, Southwest Ontario and Western Canada, and our efficient U.S. border crossings. We are close to market. More than 50 million people live within 800 kilometres (500 miles) of our boundaries.

Ready for business

Ontario East is a wide, varied land set between three of Canada’s four largest cities—Toronto, Montréal and Ottawa, Canada’s capital. We have forest and farm, communities founded in the early 1800s and vibrant, dynamic cities.

Our nine main industry sectors may draw you here. Or you may need uninterrupted access to Canada’s busiest freeway. A company may come here to forge closer ties with our private and public research organizations. Our research, business, infrastructure alignment favours innovation. Or you may come here simply to join the many businesses operating profitably here. There are many good reasons to relocate here.

Bilingual Capability

To education and training, we add a bilingual capability. In the eastern part of our region, French is the primary language for 40% to 70% of the workforce. In other parts, the figure is 5% to 15%.
